BluzSkool is the brainchild of two Austin, Texas based professional musicians; harmonica player and composer, Jose Ruiz, and vocalist, guitarist and composer, Woody Russell. BluzSkool is the moniker of a program designed by Jose and Woody which brings a fun, dynamic and interactive musical program to elementary and middle school aged children, encouraging an exploration of music that begins with simple lessons on the harmonica in your school gymnasium, classroom or conference room. Students are given their own personal harmonicas to take home with them, as well as other printed materials, so they may continue to "tinker" with their new found interest in musical creation.

BluzSkool offers more than that, though, including a short introductory concert by these two extraordinarily talented, award winning recording and touring artists. Jose and Woody further interact with students, encouraging harmonica solos, singing, dancing and joining them onstage for a number of improvised musical moments. Through this experience it is the goal of Jose and Woody's BluzSkool program to help build confidence and inspire a love of creative expression, be it musical or otherwise.
